Hello, Welcome to Our Family!
Finding a good dentist can be difficult, especially if you are looking for a dentist to service the whole family. That’s why here at Smiles by Rizzo, our staff goes above and beyond to create a welcoming atmosphere where your family will feel right at home. After completing his residency in New Jersey, Dr. Rizzo decided to stay and practice right here in Carlstadt, NJ. As a proud member of the community, he joined local organizations New Jersey Dental Association and Bergen County Dental Society. In doing so, Dr. Rizzo is always up to date with the latest practices in family dentistry. This allows him to serve his patients of all ages as best as possible.
Although many people stick to their local dentist, it is not uncommon for our patients outside of Carlstadt to make quite a drive to see us – a small sacrifice to pay to see their favorite family dentist!
See What People Have to Say About Us:
“I’ve known Dr. Rizzo since 1996 and can attest to the fact that he has always been top notch. He and his staff have always done a great job and have been extremely professional and friendly. They are also willing to help at all times. Trust me, he can do it all from checkups, to fillings, to root canals and crowns, (and he’s done all this for me over the years). I even remember an emergency I had with a tooth, that he called me on his way into work on a Saturday, and met me there first thing, even before anyone else was in yet, to help me out. I would never think of going anywhere else. Thanks again.”
“Dr.Rizzo and his team are AMAZING. I recently had extensive work done and they were incredibly patient and kind in putting my fears to rest. I am new to the area and was looking for a trusted and experienced dentist. The day i called to make the appointment i hadn’t realized that the office was closed so i left a message with the answering service not only did i get a return call 10 minutes later, but it was Dr.Rizzo himself calling to find out if i was in pain and in need of emergency treatment. This spoke volumes to me. I am a patient for life. Thanks Team Rizzo. p.s. love my smile.”
“If anyone fears having all their teeth extracted they haven’t met Dr. Rizzo. He is the greatest. I now have a complete set of implants and a new lease on life. I haven’t smiled this much in years. I live an hour away and gladly make the trip for this excellent dentist. He gets ten stars out of five. Thanks Dr. Rizzo. I just had my first ear of corn in over two years. Yum yum.”
Implants are designed to resemble the natural structure of the root of a tooth. Because it mimics the way teeth are naturally supported, it creates a realistic appearance for the restoration. Once the dental implants are fully healed, looking at your smile no one would be able to tell the difference between your natural teeth and teeth implants. You would be able to eat normally as well without fear of having them fall out.
Additionally, they would prevent jaw bone deterioration that could possibly lead to witches chin or marionette lines – this is explained further in the point below.
If a tooth falls out, there is a specific area of your jaw bone that no longer serves its function to support teeth. Without a tooth in place, the surrounding bone structure will begin to recede due to lack of use. Because a tooth implant replaces the missing root, the speed of bone resorption is greatly reduced, providing protection and stability.
Furthermore, if you are using the dental implant to support dentures, it still provides the same benefits since there is still a “root” added to the jaw line. The dentures lock into the implants, making any extra glues or adhesives unnecessary.
Dental implants are long-lasting. Over the past 40 years, they have proven to be a reliable replacement for natural teeth. With proper care, they can last for the rest of your life. Their durability exceeds other options such as dentures or bridges that break much easier. Dental implants themselves are resistant to decay as well. Dr. Rizzo is an experienced implant dentist serving patients in Carlstadt.
